Almost Wall-E's World

This morning, I found myself pointing the tv remote at the newly installed AC unit which came with a remote as well. I I find myself just getting ready to flush the towel only to be surprised that it flushes on its own almost everything get's done for us. Toilet's flushing, swipe your hand and paper towels dispense.I catch myself sometimes swiping a paper towel dispenser only to realize it's not automated. Just standing there until it hits me its not automatic (embarrassing sometimes). Our phones are no longer phones, they are mini controllers. There's zillion of apps. I signed up for five different social medias. I was good with my phone and a laptop. A few months ago, hubby got me a tablet, which I had to not necessarily learn to use but just use more often. I can go seamlessly from phone to tablet to laptop or any combination. This from a person who always keep phone is purse all day, with volume off. I like the mobility of a tablet. But I can still have everything off and out of sight and survive. Honestly I don't think today's youth could function without a cell phone, without being able to look at it all day. Unfortunately that is also prevalent in today's work world as well. Co-worker's with cell phones on desks all day. And it is accepted. Believe me I asked. You go to a home and there will be no less than 3 remotes for a tv and all the apparatus that are attached to it. Oh and then you have new ones, that you talk to and it will connect to your home and turn off lights or start your washing machines and you don't even have to be home. Tell you what's in the frig, and you can see all this being done on your phone. Cars that help you drive, collision assistance, concierges that tell you nearby restaurants, reverse parking. All this electrical energy keeps our own down and low frequency. In order to continue on our own journey we need to keep in touch with nature, whether it be a quick walk through the sun or a barefoot walk in grass. We have to stay grounded. That's not always an easy feat for some. Sometimes we allow life's fast pace to dictate our speed and direction of our journey.
John Tesh mentioned the other day something along the same lines, that it is no longer the thrill of being able to fix the washer, the bike the lights but the thrill of being able to repair the remote that controls it all.
Flash forward, my husband has confiscated the tablet and is now the fisher king and on level 350 on his card game.
